2015 Chevy Trax Receives 5-Star Overall Safety Rating

Latest to lineup with most 5-Star rated models in the U.S.

DETROIT – The 2015 Chevrolet #Trax small #SUV has received the highest possible 5-star Overall Vehicle Score for safety as part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s New Car Assessment Program. The rating was given to both front- and all-wheel drive models.

The award further cements #Chevrolet’s lead in 5-Star rated 2015 vehicles, having more models in its lineup than any brand sold in the U.S. It also puts the Trax among the safest in the quickly expanding small SUV segment, which is expected to grow more than 80 percent in the next few years.

“The Trax is the perfect example of Chevrolet’s commitment to putting state-of-the-art technology and class-leading safety features where it matters most for the customer,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet.

The Trax’s body structure forms a protective cage around the passenger compartment, with 66 percent of it composed of high-strength steels – including ultra-high-strength steel in strategic areas. The Trax features 10 air bags standard and a standard rearview camera. Rear park assist is available.
The NCAP evaluations include front, side and rollover testing. Trax also received a 5-star score on a side pole impact test, which simulates hitting a tree just behind the driver’s side A-pillar at 20 mph.
The all-new Trax started arriving at Chevrolet dealerships in December.

Founded in 1911 in Detroit, Chevrolet is now one of the world's largest car brands, doing business in more than 140 countries and selling more than 4.8 million cars and trucks a year. Chevrolet provides customers with fuel-efficient vehicles that feature engaging performance, design that makes the heart beat, passive & active safety features and easy-to-use technology, all at a value. Motor Trend Truck of the Year is the 2015 Colorado

Over the past few years full-size trucks got bigger and bigger and midsize trucks began to vanish.  The Chevrolet Colorado went out of production for three years, until recently when it made its triumphant return, completely redone and better than ever.

The Chevrolet Colorado was definitely not the largest truck in competition for the 2015 Motor Trend Truck of the Year, but it turned out to be the best in more of the Motor Trend judging categories than anything else.

For many, midsize pickups appeal to a more modest sense of size, and when the Colorado reappeared it trounced the Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier in a comparison test, clearly marking itself as a segment leader.  No other vehicle tested stands out as much as the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado.

Motor Trend editors praised the Colorado test models for not only out-performing the other Truck of the Year contenders, but for doing so while being the least expensive truck tested.  In fact, the Colorado was three times less than the Ford F-450 tested.  The lower price never left the editors wanting for more, proving good things do come in small packages.
